        Assistant Professor of Anthropology, Department of Anthropology, Harvard Univeristy.

        Principal Investigator, The Zooarchaeology Laboratory at the Peabody Museum of Ethnography and Archaeology.

        I am an anthropological archaeologist focused on the social zooarchaeology of the Nile Valley, the Sahara, and the Sahel.

        Social Zooarchaeology

        I study the role of animals, wild and domestic, in past societies and cultures.

        Archaeology of Nubia and Egypt

        I work at the sites of Tombos and Abu Fatima in the northern part of Sudan.

        African Pastoralism

        I also study origins and long-term impacts of cattle pastoralism on African societies.

        African Prehistory

        I also serve as a consultant for K-12 educators creating curricula on the the African past.
